First local green pacts in Romania and Italy

The Ilfov Provincial Council and the City of Turin are developing the first local green pacts in Romania and Italy within the SME4GREEN project, co-financed by the European Commission – “Single Market Program”. The project aims to create the conditions for cooperation between local SMEs and public authorities by 2024 and to facilitate the development of public policies that support the adoption of green and digital solutions by SMEs in the two area (Ilfov and Turin).

SME4GREEN is coordinated by the Romanian Platform Fonduri Structurale.ro in partnership with the Măgurele Science Park Association and the Ilfov Provincial Council in Romania and the Comune di Torino and the Parco Scientifico Tecnologico per Lambiente – Environment Park Torino Spa in Italy.

Within the framework of the SME4GREEN project, strategies, plans, local standards will be analysed, and different solutions will be adopted for the collaboration between the public and private environment. There will be adopted “green and digital” business models for the development of resilience of small businesses in the two regions of Romania and Italy. In the process of drawing up the 2 local green pacts, representatives of all relevant stakeholders will be involved, the co-creation process being guided by experts from the city of Amsterdam – reference city in the implementation of a green pact.
