Dear Readers,

I am very happy to present you the CEPLI’s Newsletter information second edition on the projects and events, linked to Europe, which are implemented by the Intermediate Local Authorities, but also the actions undertaken in partnership with the European Committee of the Regions which has many members representatives of the Local Intermediate Authorities, even if all the Local Intermediate Authorities in Europe do not yet have access to this body.

The reading of our second edition will allow you to get to know us better and to share with us the deep conviction that our Union will always be stronger by relying on the diversity of its territories.

CoR opinion ask for improvement of the EU multiannual financial framework to tackle current and future challenges and promote Cohesion.

Within the framework of the France-Wallonia-Vlaanderen Interreg V Programme, “Hainaut Développement” (a provincial institution) has participated as lead partner or partner in several cross-border cooperation projects of a sustainable nature.

Launch of the European project Life eCOadapt50

The 5th Environment and Local World Forum hosted the launch event of the Life eCOadapt50 project on adaptation to climate change in 19 territories of Catalonia, coordinated by the Barcelona Provincial Council Climate Action Department.

Active cities for EU project

Active Cities for EU promotes local decision making through public consultations, to strengthen citizens’ active involvement in European political life. The project focuses on women as tackling gender inequality in the EU.

Intermediate Local authorities succeed in the first phase of the Interreg Sudoe call for projects!

The INTERREG Sudoe program funds European transnational cooperation (Spain-Portugal-France-Andorra). This program is a tool of the Cohesion Policy of the European Union.

Revision of the General Block Exemption Rules

The EU Commission has revised the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) up from July 1, 2023. The GBER declares specific categories of State aid compatible with the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, provided they fulfil certain conditions.
