The European Summit of regions and cities, Marseille, 3-4 March, 2022

The European Summit organised by the European Committee of the Regions was an excellent opportunity to promote the relevant role of LIAs in Disaster Preparedness and Management.
The participation of CEPLI at this event was built on:
- the preparation of the candidacy for responding to the CoR call regarding the organisation of a virtual stand.
The application showed the role of Local Intermediate Authorities in the territorial resilience of local communities. - the organisation of a Corner Event (physical stand), agora for bilateral discussions between the members of the confederation, but also with European partners, the Presidency and the first Vice-Presidency of the CoR.
In this context, once again, CEPLI welcomes and supports the new CoR’s initiative - 'Regional Resilience Platform', proposing an innovative approach to local public policies on crisis management through prevention, based on territorial resilience plans, including vulnerability and heritage from a community and cultural perspective, and designed on solidarity, partnership and multilevel governance values.
